After watching Leicester beat Watford, I had to ask myself what it is they did right this season to be considered title favorites. They have beaten some so-called big teams this season and even fellow title contenders Tottenham were victims of their ruthlessness, and so the question pops up, what is it that Leicester City F.C has done right this season?
A MANAGER WITH EXPERIENCE
Claudio Ranieri (pictured above, left), was appointed on 13th July, 2015 to make Leicester a permanent premier league team after they had finished 14th in the league last season and were at the bottom of the league for more than four months. But with the appointment came the BELIEF.
Having managed clubs like Juventus, Inter milan, Roma, Athletico, Chelsea and many other big clubs with money to spend, the statement was clear from Leicester.
Ranieri has managed to ignite some flame in the likes of Mahrez, Vardy, Huth and many other players in the club who have stepped up and are set to make history as they seek to lift the premier league trophy at the end of the season. With a slender win over Watford last night, the dream continues to push towards reality as the club recorded its 17th of the campaign with only as few as three losses.
My salute goes to Claudio Ranieri and his Foxes as they bid to make history and make the idea that if you don't spend big, you can't be a successful manager look overrated.
